Plastic Assembly Services
PSI builds products
injection molding Capabilties
Our assembly floor combines precision mechanical assembly with a full suite of plastic joining technologies — eliminating the need to source these capabilities from separate vendors.
Discipline 1
Mechanical Assembly
Multi-component product assembly
Full-product assembly integrating multiple plastic, metal, and mixed-material components into a single finished unit — built to spec, inspected, and shippable from our floor.
Sub assembly integration
Construction of modular sub-assemblies that integrate into larger final assemblies — enabling parallel build streams and reducing total final assembly cycle time.
Insert installation and component integration
Precise installation of threaded inserts, fasteners, pins, clips, and hardware elements into molded components — using press-fit, ultrasonic, and thermal insertion methods.
Discipline 2
Joining Technologies
Ultrasonic welding
High-frequency vibrational energy creates strong, clean, hermetic bonds between thermoplastic parts — ideal for consumer products, fluid containment, and cosmetically critical assemblies requiring no visible fasteners.
Hot plate welding
Controlled thermal fusion of large or complex plastic joint surfaces — producing robust structural bonds well-suited for larger parts, irregular geometries, and demanding structural or fluid-sealing applications.
Rotational Welding
Friction-based welding for circular and cylindrical plastic parts — delivering consistent, leak-proof bonds at high production rates with minimal tooling investment and excellent joint strength.
Staking and heat staking
Permanent fastening of dissimilar materials — plastic to metal, plastic to PCB, plastic to fabric — through precision thermal deformation of molded boss features. Low-stress, high-repeatability, no secondary fasteners.
PSI’s Single Source Advantage
Our assembly floor combines precision mechanical assembly with a full suite of plastic joining technologies — eliminating the need to source these capabilities from separate vendors.
Molding & assembly on one campus
Parts transfer directly from the press to the assembly cell — no inter-vendor freight, no queue time, no material handling damage between suppliers.
One quality system, end to end
A single QMS spans the full production flow. No gaps or ambiguity between molding and assembly when it’s time to investigate a quality issue.
Shorter total lead time
Eliminating supplier hand-offs compresses program lead time significantly — from raw material to finished assembled product in fewer elapsed days.
DFM input at the design stage
Our engineering team reviews designs for assembly and joining suitability early — reducing costly downstream tooling changes and launch surprises.
Scalable cell structure
Assembly cells scale to demand. From prototype quantities and pilot runs through high-volume production — without re-qualifying a new supplier at each stage.
Packaged, labeled, and ship-ready
Assembled products move directly into kitting, labeling, and packaging on the same campus — leaving PSI shelf-ready, retail-compliant, or distribution-ready without an additional vendor in the chain.
Supply Chain Integration
Assembly is just the beginning of what we simplify
Many finished products require fabricated or purchased components beyond what comes off the press. PSI manages the sourcing and integration of those components — coordinating suppliers, managing inventory, and delivering fully assembled products instead of individual molded parts. One program. One point of contact. No loose ends.
